The Guiyang Economic Technology Development Zone (GETDZ) showcased its digital economy achievements at the 2026 China International Big Data Industry Expo, highlighting initiatives in data security, intelligent manufacturing, and the data-driven industry, which have advanced regional digital transformation.
The zone is home to China's first comprehensive big data security testing ground, and has established a cross-city dual-incubation operating model connecting Guiyang and Chengdu. Its Big Data Security Industry Demonstration Park has won multiple national-level industry accolades, achieving a revenue of 256 million yuan ($35.1 million) in the first half of 2026.
In intelligent manufacturing, GETDZ has promoted the integration of next-generation information technologies with manufacturing. For instance, the Guicai Innovative Smart Factory has reduced production costs by 27 percent after undergoing digital upgrades, with its batch product pass rate exceeding 95 percent.

The region is also fostering emerging sectors such as data annotation and computing power services, with companies providing high-quality datasets for large models and signing agreements to establish a data collection center for embodied intelligent robots in the zone.
In the first half of 2026, the electronic information manufacturing output value of enterprises above the designated size reached 7.9 billion yuan, while the revenue of large-scale internet and software service industries was 448 million yuan.
