The Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) has enacted 10 measures to further accelerate technological innovation, promoting the zone as a gathering area for technology companies, R&D institutions, achievement transformation, and scientific and technological talents.
GETDZ plans to foster new and high technology enterprises. A subsidy of 100,000 yuan ($15,000) will be given to those who obtain national high-tech enterprise certification for the first time.
It will promote the growth of science and technology enterprises, upgrade technology and innovative development, and form a group of high-growth science and technology enterprises.
A subsidy of 10,000 yuan will be awarded to enterprises that have been evaluated as "National Information Database of Technology-based Small and Medium-sized Enterprises" for two consecutive years.
Enterprises will be guided to continuously increase investment in research and development to achieve technological innovation, new product research and development, and the industrialization of results.
The zone will also help enterprises, universities, and scientific research institutes pre-set frontier projects and carry out technology and product development projects and result application demonstration projects.
An annual subsidy of up to 1 million yuan will be given out based on actual R&D investment and economic output of projects.
Companies that have received Guiyang's annual intellectual property pledge financing subsidies and technology insurance premium subsidies will be matched at 30 percent of the subsidy amount in Guiyang, and the same company will be given a subsidy of up to 100,000 yuan per year.
Enterprises, colleges, and universities are encouraged to jointly build new research and development institutions that focus on advanced equipment manufacturing, big data electronic information, health medicine, new energy and smart grids, and technology services in GETDZ.
GETDZ will also support State-owned enterprises directly under central management, leading domestic industry companies, well-known multinational companies, national scientific research institutions, and national first-class universities to develop independent legal person technology innovation platforms in the zone with a one-time subsidy of up to 5 million yuan.
