An online conference to attract funding for big data companies resident in the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was held in the zone on March 12, according to GETDZ officials.
Using remote videos, the conference aimed at securing investors to help solve the financing problems of enterprises, to advance their development.
GETDZ officials said four big data firms in the zone participated in the conference.
The projects promoted at the conference were smart parking, remote breast cancer screening and diagnosis, pre-school online education and big data medical services.
After each company introduced their project, a representative of the investment institution commented on the project through remote video, inquiring about the enterprise and the project in detail.
GETDZ officials said that the remote video conference focused on promoting new digital infrastructure enterprises involved in areas like big data, cloud computing and the internet of things.
Officials said that by supporting the companies, the zone will find new development directions in relation to future trends in the digital economy.
They added that the zone will continue to monitor and assist in progress being made by the promoted projects and the participating financial institutions.
The GETDZ plans to increase its support for enterprises in terms of helping them secure funding, as well as on the recruitment front.
Officials said the zone would also provide marketing support and help attract more enterprises in related big data fields to settle there. They added that they would make every effort to promote the development of the digital economy, represented by big data and intelligent manufacturing.
