Local authorities at the Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone (GETDZ) -- in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- have actively helped companies that have changed over to producing protective face masks, according to GETDZ officials on March 6.
While providing valuable support services, GETDZ authorizes also check preparation work for mask production on the spot.
They also bring along documents on mask production standards for the head of the company, interpret the standards at the enterprise on site and advise the business on standardizing its products.
At the same time, the industrial and commercial branch of the zone is accepting applications online for production licenses.
They are also remotely guiding enterprises on how to submit applications to change their production registration -- and they have helped companies to complete reviews and complete their applications paperwork on time.
Typically, an enterprise obtains the changed business license the following day, officials said.
According to local media reports, the GETDZ initiative is to help with novel coronavirus pneumonia prevention and control -- and to alleviate the shortage of masks in Guiyang and surrounding areas.
Officials said two companies that produced drugs and disinfectants in the past, recently responded to the government's call and switched to anti-epidemic materials and production of respirators.
At the start of February, they began preparations to procure equipment, raw materials and recruited personnel.
Officials added that with the help of the zone's authorities, their production changeover went smoothly.
